AP/AR Specialist

M-F 8:30a - 5p (Strict)
$62-67k/yearly (Yearly Bonus & Salary Increase Potential)
Our client, a well-established regional law firm with multiple offices in New Hampshire, is seeking a AP/AR Specialist to join their Finance team. This role is key to supporting the firm's accounting operations and billing functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced professional environment.
Candidates must successfully pass a background check and credit check as a condition of employment.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in accounting required.
- 5 years' comparable experience desired including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Billing
- Advanced in Excel (advanced formulas, VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Charts)
- Experience in collections statements, invoice and payment processing, AP back-up), manage project work (client funds returns, outstanding check reconciliations)
- Previous experience in Professional office setting required
- Comfortable speaking with clients, colleagues and Attorneys
- Ability to work in a very fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent Follow up and detailed skills.
- Proven reliability and sound judgment-ask before acting, document, and own your ramp-up
- Consistent work history with finance operations in a professional services setting
Responsbilities:
- Follow trust/escrow and control procedures; hit check runs at set times.
- Functioning as a backup to the Billers, AR Specialist, and AP/Escrow Specialist roles in the department
- Backup coverage entails covering vacations and providing physical in-office assistance on remote workdays.
- Perform some of the backup responsibilities on an ongoing and rotating basis to increase retention and contribute to the smooth operation of the Finance Department
- Work with colleagues and Attorneys on an as needed basis to achieve Finance department objectives.
